Mila Aldema Ramos, Ph.D., 58, of Souderton, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at her residence. She and her beloved husband Rooney F. Ramos would have celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary in January. Born in the Philippines to Heracleo and Fabiola Aldema, she eventually went on to earn her bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Mindanao State University and her master's degree from La Salle University, where she also worked as a chemistry professor. She came to the U.S. in 1988 and earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Connecticut in 1992. She worked as an assistant professor at Tufts University Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, and for the past ten years, worked as a research scientist at the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Jas Daniel at home. She is also survived by her four brothers, two sisters, nieces and nephews who all reside in the Philippines. Mila was preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Ramos was a member of Supplee Presbyterian Church in Maple Glen where she enjoyed spending time and being involved in the life of the church. In her free time she liked to travel and go sightseeing. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 12:30 PM in the Supplee Presbyterian Church, 855 East Welsh Rd., Ambler, PA 19002. Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Supplee Presbyterian Church at the above address. Please notate on the memo line for the Dominican Republic Mission Trip.
