Obituary

Harry V. Nelson, of Coopersburg and formerly of Sellersville, PA, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at Lehigh Valley Hospice, Allentown, PA.  He was 93.

He was the husband of Katherine E. "Betty" (Nalbach) Nelson who died May 27, 1997.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Harry and Johanna (Anderson) Nelson.  He was a graduate of Overbrook High School, Philadelphia.

A U. S. Navy Veteran of World War II, he served as a radar man on the U.S.S. Opponent which was a mine sweeping ship.

Mr. Nelson first worked as a home delivery milkman for Martin Century Farms (later acquired by Lehigh Valley Dairies), Lansdale, PA, for 20 years.  Then, he was employed by the former Royal Pants Factory, Perkasie, PA, for 12 years.  Later, he worked for Syncor – Nuclear Medicine, Allentown, PA, for 8 years until retiring in 1996.

He was a former member of Faith Baptist Church, Sellersville.

An avid golfer and gardener, he also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by three children, Katherine E. Kuehlman and her husband the Rev. Richard, of Coudersport, PA, Harry V. Nelson, Jr. and his wife Deidre, of Lake Hamilton, FL, and Michelle C. Romig and her husband Donald H. Jr., of Coopersburg; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; a great great granddaughter; and two step great great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by twin children, Bruce E. and Penelope A. Nelson, in 1957, a brother, John H. Nelson, and two sisters, May McEneaney and Anna Gallagher.

His Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, where family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.  Interment will follow in St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery, Sellersville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lehigh Valley Health Network Hospice, 2166 S. 12th Street #101, Allentown, PA  18103.
