Obituary

Russell D. Cressman, of East Rockhill Twp., PA, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017, at his home.  He was 97.

He was the husband of F. June (Mumbauer) Cressman.  The couple had celebrated their 39th Wedding Anniversary on June 30, 2016.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy (Trauger) Cressman who died March 6, 1974.

Born in Quakertown, PA, he was the son of the late Russell L. and Mary E. (Eisenhart) Cressman.

He was a U. S. Navy Veteran of World War II, stationed in Corpus Christi, TX.

Mr. Cressman owned and operated Cressman TV & Repair, Perkasie, PA, from 1948 until "retiring" in 1981 when his son, Ken, took over the business.  He continued assisting in the business repairing televisions, radios and electronics for many years and later as a hobby, especially antiques, until 2011.  Earlier, he was the second school bus driver hired for the Sell-Perk High School, Perkasie.  Known as "Curly", he drove bus for the school until 1958.  Previously, he was employed by the U. S. Gauge, Sellersville, PA.

He was a long-time member of St. Andrew's United Church of Christ, where he sang in the Church Choir and served on the Church Consistory of which he was Past President.  He also was a member of the St. Andrew's Union Cemetery Board for many years.

A member of the Perkasie Historical Society, he was an avid Walt Disney World fan.  He traveled to the theme park more than 50 times and was especially fond of collecting memorabilia and art, devoting an entire room in his home to his collection.

Surviving with his wife are three children, Kenneth L. Cressman and Linda, of Perkasie, Shirley C. Metzger and her husband C. Lee Jr., of Perkasie, and Judith A. Koenig and her husband Jeffrey L., of Souderton, PA; two stepsons, Michael R. White and his wife Lucille, and Randy S. White and his wife Sharon, all of Perkasie; ten grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine Sellers.

His Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at St. Andrew's United Church of Christ, 615 East Walnut Street, Perkasie, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow in St. Andrew's Union Cemetery, Perkasie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew's Untied Church of Christ, P.O. Box 69, Perkasie, PA 18944.
