Obituary

Clara J. Stubbs, of Sellersville, PA, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp., PA.  She was 84.

She was the wife of Dr. Donald R. Stubbs.  The couple had celebrated their 62nd Wedding Anniversary on August 7, 1954.

Born in White Haven, PA, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Dinko) Prebula.  She was a 1951 graduate of White Haven High School.

A homemaker, she had worked for the Pennridge School District in the Sellersville Elementary School Cafeteria and later as a secretary for the Upper Bucks Vocational-Technical School in her early years.

Clara was an active member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville, where she volunteered with the Church Bazaar, tended to the altar cloths and counted the offering.

She was a member and Past President (1976-1978) of the Woman's Club of Perkasie and was named the Club's "Woman of the Year" in 1986. A sailboat enthusiast, Clara, along with her husband, loved sailing their own boat in Canada and on the Chesapeake, Intercoastal Waterway and Lake Nockamixon as well as chartered boats in the British Virgin Islands.  She gained great pleasure in arranging small vases of flowers that she delivered to over 55 residents of five local nursing homes on a regular basis for over 10 years.  She especially enjoyed cooking and playing tennis.

Surviving with her husband are two sons, James P. Stubbs and his wife Patricia M. "Trish", of Sellersville, and Robert L. Stubbs, of New Ringgold, PA; four grandchildren, Jenny Ferry and her husband Christopher, Amy Hunter and her husband Ethan, Sally Butz and her husband Justin, and Abby Stubbs; six great grandchildren, David and Sarah Ferry, Connor and Levi Hunter, and Kyrie and Kyler Butz.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Ronco, and two brothers, John and Andrew Prebula.

Family and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 N. Main Street, Sellersville.  Interment will follow in the adjacent Church Cemetery.
