Wamsher
October 30, 1935 – March 27, 2023
William H. Wamsher, of Hilltown Township, PA, passed away suddenly Monday, March 27, 2023, at his home. He was 87.
He was the loving husband of 38 years "plus 6" of the late Judith Ann (Wike) Wamsher until her passing on March 19, 2017.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Franklin George Wamsher and the late Florence (Black) Hoy and stepson of the late Harry Hoy.
He was a proud Veteran of the U. S. Air Force, serving as an airplane mechanic from 1956 until 1960 stationed in Kansas.
Mr. Wamsher was employed as a school bus driver for the Pennridge School District for over 15 years until retiring. Previously, he worked for the former American Olean Tile Co., Lansdale, PA, for many years until its closing.
Mr. Wamsher loved tending to his property, especially gardening along with his wife. An avid skier, he also enjoyed fishing in his younger years.
He is survived by two close friends, Valerie Fraser and Gary Thomas; four nieces and nephews, Frank Wamsher, III, and his wife Madeline, Michael Wamsher and his wife Linda, Carol Lloyd, and Cathy Bell and her husband Rick; and many great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Newman, and two brothers, Donald and Frank Wamsher, II.
There will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P. O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
Arrangements are by the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA.
