William "Lyn" Hughes, 84, of Chalfont, PA, passed away on January 11, 2024 at his residence.

Born in Philadelphia, Lyn was a son of the late William P. and Mary (Dove) Hughes.

He was the loving husband of Marie (Beck) with whom he would have celebrated 30 years of marriage in March of this year.

Lyn graduated from Abington High School in 1958 and went on to become a Printer at Fisher and Porter for forty years.

In addition to his devotion to family and hard-working nature, Lyn had many interests which he was well-known for.  Lyn rode motorcycles for sixty years and belonged to a Harley Owners Group for more than thirty years.  He was also a life member of the American Motorcycle Association.  Lyn enjoyed telling stories, having visited 47 states on his Harley, including Alaska.  He also traveled to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland on his bike.  Additionally, Lyn enjoyed drag racing and was a member of the Corvette Club.  He also cherished his time at the pistol range with his brothers.

Along with his wife, Lyn is survived by sons William L. Hughes, Jr. of Ardsley, PA, Richard "Rickster" Hughes of Ambler, PA, Robert D. Hughes and his wife Christine of Quakertown, PA, and a step-son, Douglas E. Bevans of Lansdale, PA.  Lyn is also survived by grandchildren Richard W. Kelsey, Devin, Hannah, Andrew, a step-grandson Douglas, Jr.; great-grandchild McKenzie; a niece, Cathy Jacobs and her husband Tyson; a nephew Harry Hughes and his wife Heidi; great-nieces Heather, Shelbie, Regina, and Amber.  Lyn is also survived by his Schnauzer Harley, whom he loved dearly.

Lyn is preceded in death by his siblings A. Larry Hughes and Robert L. Hughes.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00PM on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Trinity UCC. 2009 Church Road. Skippack, PA 19474.   The family will receive friends from 11:00AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Trinity UCC Cemetery in Skippack, PA.
