William Earl Bryan, of Bedminster Twp., passed away suddenly on Monday, August 7, 2023, at his home. He was 88.
He was the loving husband of Violet (Beer) Bryan. The couple had celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary on March 15, 2023.
Born in Perkasie, PA, he was the son of the late Elmer and Miriam (Crouthamel) Bryan. He was a 1953 graduate of Sell-Perk High School, Perkasie,
Mr. Bryan was employed as a truck driver for the Lansdale Candy Company, Hatfield, PA, for 10 years until retiring. Following his retirement, he worked as a "car jockey" for Fred Beans, Doylestown, PA, for 10 years. Previously, he worked for Farm Bureau/Agway at its Dublin and Souderton, PA, locations for a combined 21 years, and, before that, he was employed by the North Eastern Breeding Association as a technician for 13 years. In his early years, he worked on the family dairy farm in Perkasie for 9 years.
He was a faithful member of St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie (Kellers Church), where he served as an Usher, Church Treasurer and on the Church Council as well as various church committees.
A member of the Grundsow Lodge No. 9, Dublin, Mr. Bryan was an avid Philadelphia Phillies Baseball and Philadelphia Eagles Football fan. He loved cruising and traveling especially to destinations of Alaska, Hawaii, and Southwestern United States. He enjoyed tending to his yard and playing cards. His greatest pleasure was found in spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving with his wife are three children, Diane L. Bryan, of Reading, PA, Steven E. Bryan and his wife Donna, of Warriors Mark, PA, and Carol Penney and her husband Bruce, of Perkasie; three grandchildren, Jennifer Bryan and her husband Ethan Alavi, Mark Bryan, and Michael Caccavo and his wife Amy; two great-grandchildren, Ariana Alavi and Haylie Caccavo; and a sister, Ruth Sommers, of Telford, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Mervin, Clyde, Darwin and Stanley Bryan.
His Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3668 Ridge Road, Perkasie, where family and friends may call from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in the adjacent Kellers Church Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 3668 Ridge Road, Perkasie, PA 18944.
