Obituary

Walter Stever, 99, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Lutheran Community at Telford.

He was the loving husband of Helen Stever for nearly 71 years until her passing in April 2024.

Born in Solebury, PA., Walter was the son of the late William and Leah (Slotter) Stever, but was raised by his aunt and uncle, Edna and Norman Lear of Gardenville, PA.

Walt was a proud US Navy veteran who served during World War II. He spent time painting airplanes while in the Navy.

Walt later worked in the electrical repair field for Paul B. Moyer Inc. for over forty years until retirement.

Walt was known to be tinkering with anything wood or metal. He worked for Bucks Co. Motors as a painter. He painted many vehicles for family members and taught the kids to drive in his Farm Truck “Jitney”. He enjoyed all things gardening, including trimming bushes to look like “Hershey kisses”. He enjoyed making creative intricate homemade Halloween costumes. He was devoted to his grandchildren and great grandchildren, who each brought him great joy.

Walt was a dedicated member of Little Zion Lutheran Church.

The family would like to recognize the staff at Lutheran Community at Telford and Shepherd’s Way for their tremendous care and enduring support for Walt and the family.

Walter is survived by four children: Donna Lynn Nace and her husband Gary of Ephrata, PA, Joel D. Stever and his wife Loretta of Schwenksville, PA, Brian E. Stever and his wife Donna of Red Hill, PA, and Brent A. Stever and his wife Tammy of Bedminster, PA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; Amy, Allen, David, Leah, Matthew, Abigail, and Chrysta, and seven great-grandchildren; Dylan, Caroline, Eva, Wyatt, Molly, Hudson, and Nolan.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 11AM at Little Zion Lutheran Church. Family will receive friends from 10 to 11AM, prior to the service. Interment is private at the convenience of the family at Tohickon Union Cemetery.
