Valerie Joy "Val" MacLaughlin, of Perkasie, PA and formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023 at St. Luke's University Hospital, Bethlehem, PA.  She was 31.

Born in Sellersville and raised in Coopersburg, PA, she was the daughter of F. Scott MacLaughlin, of Perkasie and Sharyn L. (Beck) MacLaughlin, of Montgomeryville, PA.  A 2009 graduate of Southern Lehigh High School, she went on to earn a Bachelor in Business Administration with a minor in Spanish from the University of Pittsburgh, graduating in 2013.

Val worked as a procurement buyer and was employed by Motional, a Driverless Car Company, Pittsburgh, for the past 2 ½ years.  Prior to that, she was employed by Linde North America, also in Pittsburgh.

During her younger years, Val was active in gymnastics and was a member of Parkettes in Allentown.  She placed eighth in the state of PA for diving in high school competition.   Val also enjoyed  snowboarding.

In her free time, Val loved to watch a good movie like the Harry Potter and Halloweentown series, TV shows like Gossip Girl and reality TV.  She loved chicken wings with extra hot sauce and blue cheese and if she had a glass of water, it had to have a lemon in it.  Most of all, she loved her cats Meeko and Murr.

Surviving with her parents are three sisters, Shelley N. MacLaughlin, of North Wales, PA and twin sisters, Melody R. MacLaughlin and Carly P. MacLaughlin, both of Perkasie; her maternal grandmother, Cleora Beck, of Telford, PA and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Sharing of Memories service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA where family and friends may call from 11:30 Am until service time.
