Uteen Mildred Meyers, of Milford Township, PA, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022, at her home. She was 97.
She was the wife of the late William W. Meyers, who died October 31, 2011, and the late Edward C. Funk, who died July 5, 1979.
Born in Newport, KY, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Leona (Bradford) Joos. She was a 1943 graduate of Newport High School.
Mrs. Meyers assisted her first husband as an office manager in his business, the former Funk's Mill Supplies, Richlandtown, PA, from 1952 until the business was sold in 1975.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Richlandtown, PA, where she taught Sunday school for many years.
Mrs. Meyers was a member and Past President of the Richlandtown Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She was a longtime member of the International Jim Beam Bottle Club and also loved reading and traveling. She had a love/hate relationship with "her friend, Alexa" who read her over 300 books a year but wouldn't answer when she called her "Lexie".
She is survived by two daughters, Charlene S. Cressman and her husband Thomas L. Funk, of Wescosville, PA, and Karen L. Mobley and her husband Mark Waltz, of Charleston, SC; three grandchildren, Candace Peterson and her husband Lorenzo, of Quakertown, PA, Shandra Kee and her husband Michael, of Shalimar, FL, and William Kline, of San Diego, CA; three great-grandchildren, Braden Peterson, Inara Kee and Jovie Kee; and two sisters, Ruth Fancher, of Cincinnati, OH, and Marilyn Lambert and her husband Herb, of Atlanta, GA. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Joos.
Family and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Services to be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 25, 2022, at Flatland Church, 180 West Thatcher Road, Quakertown, PA.
