Tjerk Jan
Post
November 3, 1967 – October 7, 2023
Born in Renkum, Netherlands, he was the son of Jan T. Post, of Bunschoten, Netherlands, and
the late Engeliena(Wikkerink) Post.
Jan grew up in a household with his mother, father, and his brother Derk. When Jan was young
he regularly went swimming with father, and he became a lifeguard just like him. He had a
special relationship with his mom and could talk to her about anything. Although Jan and Derk
would end up separated thousands of miles away from one another, it wouldn't stop them from
frequently talking over the phone.
Jan came to the United States to study Communications at Temple University and play basketball for the Owls - a team that made it to the Elite Eight in the 1990-91 NCAA Division I Tournament. He worked in marketing and sales for over 32 years, and was most recently employed at Reser Inc, Harleysville, PA and the Netherlands, for more than 8 years.
Jan loved spending time with his friends (who were like family to him), loved cookouts (where
he'd whip up his famous wings), and loved to laugh (especially at his own jokes). But he was
happiest when he was with his children.
Jan was very active in his children's sports teams when they were growing up, coaching
basketball, soccer, baseball, and football. He always taught them to be grateful for their
opportunities and to make the most of them. Jan continued to support his children through their
athletic careers - you would always find him at his children's collegiate basketball, volleyball,
and football games cheering from the bleachers.
He enjoyed sharing his culture with his children and loved introducing them to foods he grew up
with, making them his mom's Dutch pancakes whenever he got the chance. If the Netherlands
National Football Team was playing a match, they would all dress up in orange to cheer them on.
And he'd often call his kids to update them on his favorite Formula 1 driver, Max Verstappen.
Jan encouraged his children to work hard, be present, and appreciate what truly mattered in life -
time with family and friends.
He is survived by his three children, Jonathan T. Post, Julia M. Post, and Colin L. Post, of
Sellersville, PA; Father Jan T. Post of Bunschoten, Netherlands brother Derk W. Post and his
wife Katja, of Nijkerk, Netherlands; two nephews, Tristian Post and Steven Post; a niece
Annabelle Post; ex-spouse Stacy H. Post; father-in-law, Ron H. Lewis; and a mother-in-law
Elaine P. Lewis. He was preceded in death by his mother Engeliena(Wikkerink) Post.
