Suzanne Emily
Kravitz
March 25, 1944 – August 18, 2025
Suzanne Emily Kravitz, of Wilton, CT and formerly of Perkasie, PA, passed away Monday, August 18, 2025. She was 81.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Andrew H. and Mildred (Mitchell) Dockwell.
Sue was employed for many years as an Assistant Director of the Bucks County Board of Elections until retiring in 2010. Always interested in public affairs, Sue was an avid newspaper reader and an inveterate sender of clipped articles to her family and friends.
Sue loved to be busy and had an innate urge to serve others in ways big and small. Nearly everyone she knew, and particularly her family, received some impromptu act of kindness from her. She was active in the Pennridge Community, serving on the Perkasie Borough Council and the Perkasie Youth Aid Panel. She also served as a long-time volunteer for Grand View Hospital in Sellersville, PA. A lover of animals, she frequently brought her dog, Toby, to the hospital to serve as a therapy pet and adopted countless strays over the years.
When she wasn't volunteering, Sue enjoyed dancing, gardening, cross-stitching, and walking, and thought nothing of starting conversations with strangers, a trait that frequently amused her children. A perennial optimist, she endured many health challenges with determination and positivity, and would quickly rebut expressions of concern with a reminder that there were persons less fortunate than she. Despite several major surgeries, she was always present for children and was profoundly grateful to be able to watch each of her grandchildren grow and to play a role in their lives.
Faith was a vital part of Sue's life. She regularly attended mass and was guided daily by her faith in divine grace and her deep-rooted feeling of charity toward others. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville, PA and, previously, St. Bede the Venerable Church of Holland, PA, and St. Vincent de Paul Church of Richboro, PA. She was a graduate of St. Basil Academy in Philadelphia and, as she told it, was never in trouble with the nuns.
She is survived by three children, Brett Dockwell and his wife Alison, of New Canaan, CT, Amy Kravitz and her husband Alvaro Del Solar, of Washington, DC, and Troy Kravitz and his wife Sandra, also of Washington, DC; seven grandchildren, Fin, Nola, Ainsley, Elias, Mathias, Charlotte and Noah. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Dockwell, and a sister, Patricia Caltabiano.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 N. Main Street, Sellersville, PA, where family and friends may call from 9:30 to 10:15 AM.
