September 20, 1933-July 26, 2026 Susanne R. Dembrosky of Quakertown PA and formerly of Wescosville and Silverdale PA was called home by her Lord and Savior. She passed peacefully at home with family by her side, on what would have been her husband’s birthday.

            Sue was born in Hellertown, Northampton Township. She was the daughter of the late Francisco Rios and Victoria Montemayor Rios. Preceded in death by her brothers Ray Alvarez, Al Rios and sisters Mary Gritz and Ofelia Taby.

            She was a 1952 graduate of Liberty High School Bethlehem, PA where she met her high school sweetheart Arthur W. Dembrosky. They were married on October 16, 1954 and celebrated their 67th anniversary before Arts passing in 2022. They had two children, Dennis Dembroksy and Diane Umland (Charlie). Granddaughter Jacqueline (Kellen) and great grandson Grant.

            In 1957, Art opened Art’s Oasis, a hot dog stand in Silverdale that later became Dembrosky’s Restaurant. Before Sue began running the restaurant with Art full time she worked at Philco Ford and American Electronic Laboratory. In 1988, Sue and Art retired and sold the restaurant, choosing to devote more time to what mattered most to them-their family. Sue especially cherished the weekends when her family and their dogs would gather at their home in Wescosville.

            Sue and Art enjoyed traveling abroad, going on bus trips, boating and camping in their RV. They gave faithfully to various charities. Sue’s priority was spending time with family. She did it with so much love and laughter. In 1995 Art and Sue moved again to be closer to family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her great grandson. The family always said GG was Grant’s favorite toy. The traditions and magic she created, and the stories she shared will live on through the generations.

            Sue was an active member of First Baptist Church of Perkasie (Renew) where Sue and Art volunteered cleaning and working in the kitchen. Their greatest pleasure was volunteering their time in the nursery with the 2-year-olds. It was often hard to tell who enjoyed this more, Sue and Art or the kids! Their hearts broke in 2008 when they had to step away from the nursery when Sue had treatment for cancer.

            Through her later years Sue had many health issues that caused her to be a frequent flyer at St. Luke’s Quakertown Hospital. The family would like to express how thankful they are for the wonderful doctors, nurses, volunteers, hospice nurses and aides who have taken such good care of her through the years.

            Services were held privately for the family. In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution can be made to Gideon’s Bibles or Revivals Outreach Center in Perkasie PA.

            If you were a telemarketer, someone from Sue’s insurance company or her pharmacy you probably were introduced to Nicodemus. When you are excited about something you can’t help but talk about it and share it with others. In scripture John 3 talks about Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. He came to Jesus at night and said to him, “Rabbi (teacher), we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.” Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God”. “Do not marvel that I said to you, you must be born again...”

            At forty-six years old, Sue heard this for the first time. She also read in 1 John 5:13, “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life”. For the last forty-six years of Sue’s life, it was her mission to tell as many people as possible so you too can know you have eternal life. Romans 10:9, 10, 13 says, “Because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes and is justified and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved”. Sue thought she believed. Imagine you’re 20 years old and are told you are going to have cancer when you’re older. That is head knowledge, you can only imagine how you would feel. Compare that to being 75 years old and the doctor stands before you and says, “you have cancer-Lymphoma”. That is heart knowledge.

            At forty-six years old Sue heard “believe in your heart…” and that head knowledge suddenly became heart knowledge. 2 Corinthians 3:16 says “But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed.” The apostle Paul explains that a spiritual “veil” blinds people from understanding but the veil is lifted when someone turns to Christ. Many people think they need to make changes and clean up their act so to speak before coming to Christ. In John 16:7 Jesus said, “for if I do not go away, the Helper (Holy Spirit) will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you”. We do not clean up our act then come to Christ. We come to Christ-we choose to believe and we receive the Holy Spirit, that’s when our desires change. The Holy Spirit lives inside of us when we accept Christ. He helps us by giving us new desires. We come to Christ and repent of our sins. Some sins are so obvious to us that we immediately know the things we need to change. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation. The old has passed away, behold the new has come!”

            Forty-six years ago, Sue became a new creation. When people discuss passing on, they say “you can’t take it with you”. Sue understood what you can take with you, people. Romans 10:15 says, “And how are they to hear without someone preaching, how beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” When you are excited about an upcoming vacation, the closer you get to it the more you want to talk about it. Just as when you love someone-your desire is to talk about them. How do you fall in love? You spend time with the person. Sue spent forty-six years getting to know the person of Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. She was so excited about her final and permanent vacation and could not stop talking about it. The most exciting part of Sue’s life was being a bride, both times. When you become a follower of Christ you are a part of the church and scripture says the church is the bride of Christ. She was looking forward to the wedding celebration. Revelation 19:7-9 says, “Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the lamb has come and his bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean, was given to her to wear. Then the angel said to me, "write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the lamb! And he added, “These are the words of God”.

            Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His Saints.

            John 11:25 “Those who believe in me even though they die, will live.”

            Revelation 21:4 “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
