October 7, 1943 – August 28, 2023
Steven Jay Moyer, of Harleysville and formerly of Perkasie, PA, passed away Monday, August 28, 2023, at his home. He was 79.
He was the loving husband of 53 years of the late Diane R. (Moyer) Moyer until her passing on June 29, 2018.
Born in Sellersville, PA, he was the son of the late Granville and Ella Y. (Johnson) Moyer. He was a 1962 graduate of Pennridge High School, Perkasie.
Mr. Moyer was employed as an Air Conditioning & Heating Technician for Moyer & Son, Souderton, PA, for 32 years until retiring in 2005. Following his retirement, he drove cars for Ciocca Ford, Quakertown, PA, for a number of years.
He was a member of Blooming Glen Mennonite Church, Blooming Glen, PA, where he served as a Church Usher.
Mr. Moyer and his wife were avid golfers who loved golfing while spending time at their vacation home in Myrtle Beach, SC, for many years. A hunting enthusiast, he was a member of the Branch Valley Fish, Game & Forestry Assn., Perkasie. He enjoyed bowling and watching old Western shows on television. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by two daughters, Jennifer L. Moyer and her husband Todd, of Souderton, PA, and Jayme Diane Jordan, of Telford, PA; four grandchildren, Kassandra Ziegler and her husband Bryan, Jillian Moyer and her fiancé Kingsley Nworu, Emily Jordan and Kyle Jordan; and two brothers, R. Glenn Moyer, of Doylestown, PA, and D. Lee Moyer and his wife Marie, of Harrisonburg, VA.
Family and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service to be held at 7:00 PM on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Blooming Glen Mennonite Church, 713 Blooming Glen Road, Perkasie, PA. The family will greet extended family and friends and share in light refreshments immediately following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall. The Memorial Service will be livestreamed on the Church website at www.bgmc.net
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 30386, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
Arrangements are by the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie.
