Stanley A. "Stash" Fota, Jr., of Maple Glen, PA, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Jefferson Abington Hospital, Abington, PA.  He was 76.

He was the loving husband of Christine M. (Balsamo) Fota.  The couple would have celebrated their 33rd Wedding Anniversary on August 17, 2024.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Stanley A. Sr. and Veronica (Hughes) Fota.  A 1965 graduate of LaSalle College High School, Wyndmoor, PA, he attended Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY, for Russian studies.

A proud Vietnam War Veteran, he served as a Russian interpreter with the U. S. Air Force from 1967 to 1969 and was stationed in San Antonio, TX.  Following his honorable discharge, he was active with the Air Force Reserves until 1973.

Stash was a self-employed wholesale florist, operating Stanley Fota Gardens, Maple Glen, PA, selling wholesale flowers and plants to local flower shops in Northeast Philadelphia and the Suburban areas from 1970 until retiring in 2023.

An avid Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies fan, he especially enjoyed traveling highlighted with trips to Italy, Las Vegas, Florida, and North and South Carolina.

Family was always most important to Stash with "Family Dinner" being a big event every month.  He loved entertaining everyone with lots of good food and laughs.  He will be sorely missed by all.

Surviving with his wife are his children, Stanley A. "Stash" Fota, III, of Maple Glen, PA, Daniel A. Fota and his wife Melissa, of Roslyn, PA, Emily R. Donahue and her husband Robert, of Mount Laurel, NJ, and Elizabeth M. LaBar and her husband Sean Sheridan of Glenside, PA; and two grandsons, Austin James Donahue and Logan Andrew Fota.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
