Samuel Reed
Conrey, V
August 5, 1941 – November 28, 2025
Samuel Reed "Bumpy" Conrey, V, of East Rockhill Township and formerly of Doylestown, PA, passed away Friday, November 28, 2025, at home at the age of 84.
He was the loving husband of Sharon Ann (Fryling) Conrey. They would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on December 26, 2025.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Samuel Reed Conrey, IV and Mary (Grailey) Conrey Kennedy.
Bumpy was a proud veteran serving for six years in the U.S. Army National Guard.
Bumpy began his 60-year career in the swimming pool industry with Sylvan Pools, Doylestown, PA, where he was a coping and tile setter. He later established his own custom swimming pool business, Bumpy Pools, Inc., which he owned and operated for 50 years until retiring in 2021.
He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church (Kellers Church).
Bumpy was a simple man. He loved spending time with his family and friends and watching his grandchildren grow up. An animal lover, he loved his dogs, snuggling with his cat, and taking his grandchildren fishing when they were younger. He spent his early years in Point Pleasant, PA where he attended two different one-room schoolhouses before moving to Doylestown. He spent many happy hours at the family's summer home in Byram, NJ on the Delaware River, where you could find Bumpy racing his speed boat and water skiing. Passionate about his business, Bumpy loved building pools and developed many lifelong friendships with both his colleagues and his customers. He was especially known for his honesty, his unassuming nature and his quiet generosity.
Surviving with his wife are his two children, Meredith Conrey Eater and her husband Greg, of Furlong, PA, and Keith Conrey, of East Rockhill Township; his three grandchildren, Morgan, Regan, and Dylan Eater; his two sisters, Betsy Matyjasik, of Exton, PA, and Kyle Niece, of Lansdale, PA. He is also survived by his stepsisters, Margaret Cauley, Teresa Kennedy and Lorraine Burghart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather Francis Kennedy and four step siblings: Catherine Dlugoz, Francis Kennedy, Mary Kennedy and Rita Hargis.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 22, 2025, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church (Kellers Church), 3668 Ridge Road Perkasie, PA, where family and friends may call from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in the church's Memorial Garden.
