Ruth E. Svoboda, of Sellersville, PA, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by loved ones, on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at her home.  She was 77.

She was the loving longtime companion of 30 years of James P. Rumley.

Born in Quakertown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Emma Catherine (Yost) Hartzell.   She was a 1962 graduate of Pennridge High School, Perkasie, PA.

Ruth started her career working in the cafeteria at Grand View Hospital for several years.   She then worked for the U. S. Gauge, Division of AMETEK, Sellersville.  After that, she returned to Grand View Hospital where she worked in the Business Office, where she worked her way up to the Business Office Manager for 30 years until retiring in 2009.

She was a member of Solomon's United Church of Christ, Bedminster, PA..

A talented baker and avid reader, Ruth enjoyed playing golf and tending to her flower gardens. She was particularly fond of traveling to the South, especially Hilton Head, South Carolina, and Florida.  Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving with her longtime companion are two children, Brenda J. Hubert and her husband Michael, of Coaldale, and Ronald H. Svoboda and his companion Cindy Marlin, of Sellersville; Jim's sons, James C. Rumley and his wife Michelle, of Whitehall, and David M. Rumley and his wife Sindia, of Macungie; nine grandchildren, Blaine, Trisha and her husband Ron Jr., Stephanie and her husband Jeremy, Brett and his wife Emily, Logan, Michael Jr. and his wife Laura, Kori, Jonah and Lyla; five great-grandchildren, Dominic, Noah, Grace, Michael James and Madison; and two sisters, Dorothy Werner, of Northampton, PA, and Mary Beck and her husband Carl, of Sellersville.  She was preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin Hartzell, Harold Hartzell and Kenneth Hendricks.

Her Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Solomon's United Church of Christ, 2990 Bedminster Road, Perkasie, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow in Kellers Church Cemetery, Perkasie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Solomon's United Church of Christ, 2990 Bedminster Road, Perkasie, PA  18944.
