Obituary

Ronald K. Hunsberger, 74, of Souderton, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016 in the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia.

He and his beloved wife Donna L. (Carlson) Hunsberger would have celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary in December.

Born in Sellersville, he was a son of the late Franklin C. and Ada D. (Keller) Hunsberger.

He was employed as a commercial property manager for Spring Hill Realty for 15 years prior to his retirement in 2011.  He was previously employed as the Director of Marketing for Clemens' Markets, and prior to that, started his career at Hallman's Creamery in Souderton.  In the early 1960's, he met his wife while serving in the 1W Service at the Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover, NH.

Ron was a member of Souderton Mennonite Church where he served as a deacon and an usher.  He was a former member and past president of the Telford Fire Company.  In his free time he enjoyed reading newspapers, antiques and collectibles, crossword puzzles, continuing the family tradition of making applesauce, and volunteering with Meals on Wheels through Generations of Indian Valley.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends, often telling one of his many stories.  Ron's final act of kindness was his very personal donation to Gift of Life.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters:  Cheryl Orloski and her husband Leo of Schwenksville, Jill Meenan and her husband Brian of Downingtown, a son, Ronald Hunsberger and his wife Gabrielle of Harleysville, seven grandchildren:  Leo, Jr., Amanda, Avery, Molly, Emily, Annabel, and Ethan, a sister, Donna Garis and her husband John of Telford, and a brother, Bryan Hunsberger and his wife Barbara of Schwenksville.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 11 AM in the Souderton Mennonite Church, 105 W. Chestnut Street, Souderton, PA 18964.  Inurnment will follow in the Souderton Mennonite Columbarium.  Family will receive friends from 9-11 AM prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Souderton Mennonite Church at the above address, or to Meals on Wheels at Generations of Indian Valley, 259 N. Second Street, Souderton, PA 18964 or to the Keystone Opportunity Center, 104 N. Main St., Souderton, PA 18964.  Arrangements are by the Sadler-Suess Funeral Home, Telford.
