Ronald C. Buckley, of Sellersville, PA, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at his home. He was 85.
He was the loving husband of the late Donna (Schnable) Buckley until her passing on August 19, 1989.
Born in East Rockhill Township, he was the son of the late Frank and Amy (Brensinger) Krause. He attended Pennridge High School, Perkasie, where he played the position of "Center" with the 1957 State Championship Football Team.-
Mr. Buckley was a proud Veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps, having served Stateside at Camp Lejeune and in Okinawa, Japan, over the course of his enlistment from 1958 to 1961.
He worked as a truck driver for most of his life beginning his career with Kellers Creamery, Harleysville, PA, to become the proud owner of his "auto car". Then, he worked for the former North Penn Transfer for 32 years and later for Ford Fusion, Lansdale, PA. He, along with his late wife, also owned and operated the Parkway Drive-In Restaurant, Haycock Township, from 1984 to 1992.
Mr. Buckley was a member of the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church – Ridge Valley, Sellersville, PA.
He was a member of the V.F.W. Forrest Lodge No. 245, Sellersville, PA, as well as the East Rockhill Lions Club. He volunteered with the Parent-Teacher Association at the Robert B. Deibler Elementary School, Perkasie, PA, for a number of years.
A member of the National Rifle Association, Mr. Buckley was an avid hunter. He was active with several hunting clubs including the Great Swamp Fish & Game, Quakertown, PA, and especially enjoyed hunting trips to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. A member of the Penn Coachmen Motor Home Club, he loved traveling and camping across the United States in his motor home with his companion Joanne Freeman. And, he was a proud horse owner over the years.
He is survived by two children, Michelle L. Kuhn and her husband Michael, of Quakertown, PA, and Renee Buckley, of Sellersville, PA; two grandchildren, Jessica Adams and her husband Michael, of Richlandtown, PA, and Gary Kuhn and his wife Sue of Perkasie, PA; five great-grandchildren, Kendra, Zach and Mackenzie Adams, Jake Moyer and Jolene Kuhn; a brother Dennis Krause and his wife Sherry, of Quakertown, PA; and a sister, Carol Lasconage, of Sellersville, PA.
His Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home & Crematory, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery (Ridge Valley), Sellersville, PA.
