Obituary

Raymond Earl Fretz, Jr., of Alpharetta, GA, and formerly of Perkasie, PA, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at the North Fulton Hospital, Roswell, GA.  He was 83.

He was the loving husband of Sharon (W.) Fretz.

Born in Perkasie, PA, he was the son of the late Raymond Earl Fretz and the late Blanche (Cope) Fretz Bockius, and stepson of the late Bob Bockius. He was a 1957 graduate of Pennridge High School, Perkasie.

Mr. Fretz was employed as a sales manager for Daltile, for 48 years until retiring in 2009. Following his retirement, he worked part-time for Manheim Company, Hatfield, PA. In his early years, he worked for the former C. D. Moyer Co., Silverdale, PA.

He was a member of St. Andrew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie.

Mr. Fretz was a member of the Shiloh-MacCalla Lodge No. 558, Souderton, PA, for over 50 years.  A member of the Loyal Order of Moose No. 1539, Sellersville, PA, he was a member of the Branch Valley Fish & Game Club, Perkasie, and a former member and President of the former Pennridge Jaycees.

An avid reader and proud owner of a 1929 Ford Roadster, he loved attending car shows over the years, he was especially fond of working on projects around the house. He could lay hardwood floor, fix electrical problems, lay tile, or install a spiral staircase! He also enjoyed tinkering in one of his four garages or traveling to Disney World with his wife.

Surviving with his wife are his children; Lori (Fretz) Bailey and her husband Pete of Millsboro, DE, Wendy Fretz of Scottsdale, AZ, Kenneth Fretz and his wife Karen of Souderton, PA, and stepchildren; Greg Cressman of Perkasie, PA, Suzanne (Cressman) Senkiewicz and husband Todd of Alpharetta, GA, Lori Cressman of Smyrna, GA. Also, a brother, Steven Fretz, of Perkasie, PA; and five sisters, Lucille Rush, of Telford, PA, Joan Vogt and her husband Lee, of Quakertown, PA, Kathleen Fretz and her husband Robert, of Sellersville, PA, Margie Barrett, of Doylestown, PA, and Lolly Smith, of Telford, PA. Step-sister, Ann Crocker of PA; Grandchildren; Joseph Bailey and wife Courtney of Rehoboth Beach, DE, Thomas Bailey and his fiancé Hannah of Washington, DC, Jack Bailey – US Army, Ronnie Fretz of Lansdale, PA and Jackie Fretz of Souderton, PA; Holly Senkiewicz, Ty Senkiewicz and Chase Senkiewicz of GA, Alpharetta, GA and Callum Cressman of Smyrna, GA. Ray had many nieces and nephews and a Great Granddaughter due May 29th. In addition to his parents and stepfather, he was preceded in death by a brother, Randall Fretz; and a sister, Constance Smith.

His Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at St. Andrew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 20 Dill Avenue, Perkasie, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow in St. Andrew's Union Cemetery, Perkasie.
