Obituary

Ray R. Landis, 93, of Lansdale, PA, formerly of Telford and Souderton, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by love on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Dock Woods Community in Lansdale, PA. He was the beloved husband of Linda V. (Matthews) Landis and they celebrated their 69th anniversary this past April.

Born August 1, 1933, in Morewood, PA, he was a son of the late Enos F. and Helen G. (Ruth) Landis.

He was a longtime member of Zion Mennonite church in Souderton, PA where he frequently served as usher and assisted with counting the weekly offering.

Ray was a 1951 graduate of Sell-Perk High School in Perkasie, PA. He was also a proud US Army veteran who was stationed at Fort Lewis, WA as a jeep mechanic from 1953-1955.

Following his military discharge, Ray worked in masonry for Stanley Keller.  Later, he began a lengthy 30-year career at Charles Chips initially as a delivery driver and eventually moving into management. In 1987, he started a position where he coordinated and ran the large warehouse in which food companies delivered food and supplies for all schools in the Souderton Area School District. He retired in 1999.

As a young father, Ray’s hobbies included bowling, golfing, billiards, ping-pong, and waterskiing. In more recent years, he and Linda enjoyed RV camping and travelling, especially spending time in the Lancaster, PA area, Bar Harbor, ME, and Williamsburg, VA. He was also a long-suffering Phillies fan. However, his favorite hobby was enjoying family time.

Along with his wife Linda, he is survived by children; Steven Landis and his wife Linda (Stackhouse) of Woxall, PA, Denise Lund and her husband John of Hawley, PA and Don Landis and his wife Lea (Seitz) of Souderton, PA. Ray is also survived by his brother Ronald Landis of Souderton, PA; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren (with one more on the way) and two great-great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are by Sadler-Suess Funeral Home & Crematory, 33 N. Main St., Telford, PA 18969.
