Paul Evan “Smokey” Stover, Jr., formerly of Gaines and Washington Crossing, PA, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the Lutheran Community at Telford, Telford, PA. He was 91.

            He was the loving husband of 57 years of the late Patsy Lee (Case) Stover until her passing on November 8, 2019.

             Born in Trenton, NJ, and raised in Pennington, NJ, he was the son of the late Paul Evan Sr. and Alice Teresa (Cahill) Stover. He was a 1953 graduate of Pennington Hopewell High School, Pennington, NJ.

             Mr. Stover was a proud U. S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, having served from 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1957. He was stationed at the former Sampson Air Force Base and in Germany and France during his enlistment.

             He was employed as a meter reader for Public Service Electric & Gas in Trenton, NJ and Lawrenceville, NJ, for a combined 40+ years until retiring in 1993.

             An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Stover especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and canoeing. He loved animals, especially his two black Labrador Retrievers.

            He is survived by two children, Susan Lynne Young and her husband Russell, of Perkasie, PA, and Ronald Evan Stover and his wife Nadine, of Clovis, CA; four grandchildren, Jacob Young and his wife Hanna, Dylan Stover, Teresa Stover and Bryce Stover; and a brother, Robert Templeton Stover and his wife Geri, of Middletown, DE.

            Funeral Services and interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
