Paul Andrew Sawyer, Sr., of Perkasie, PA, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at his home.  He was 60.

He was the husband of Diane F. (Resuta) Sawyer.  The couple had celebrated their marriage on November 11, 2000.

Born in Norristown, PA, he was the son of the late Charles and Anne (Geraghty) Sauermelch.

A 1979 graduate of Methacton High School, Worcester, PA, he attained his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Science and Electrical Engineering from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.

Paul served in the U. S. Air Force from 1985 to 1989.

He began his career as a Senior Electronic Technician with the Drexel Brook Engineering Co., Horsham, PA, until leaving there in 1998.  Then, he worked for 18 years for Harold Beck & Sons, Newtown, PA, as an Electrical Engineer.

Paul was a member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hilltown, PA.

An avid gardener, he especially enjoyed fishing, target shooting and hosting cookouts.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Surviving with his wife is a son, Paul Andrew Sawyer, Jr., of Perkasie; five brothers; and five sisters.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew J. and Gerard Sauermelch.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 100 Broad Street, Hilltown, PA, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
