Paul Doug Grater, 62, of Pottstown, PA, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Reading Hospital, Reading PA.

            Doug was the beloved husband of the late Jeanne (Atkins) Grater.

            Born in Sellersville, PA. he was a son of the late Paul M. and Grace (Yerk). Grater.

            Doug was employed as a painter for David Alderfer painting of Harleysville, PA. Prior to that, he had worked as a meat cutter for Clemens Food Group.

            Doug enjoyed spending time watching NASCAR races and was very proficient at crossword puzzles. He loved spending time outdoors fishing, enjoying both freshwater and deep-sea fishing. Doug was a HAM radio operator and loved tinkering with things around the house. Doug was also a collector of many different items. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends around a delicious meal. One of Doug’s greatest enjoyments was cheering on his beloved Philadelphia Eagles football team.

           He is survived by his children John P. Grater of Hatfield, PA and Diana G. Grater and her husband Nick Shupinski of Pottstown, PA. He is also survived by his beloved cat Sammy.

            Doug’s memorial services will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 11:00 AM in St. John’s Lutheran Church Ridge Valley, 910 Allentown Rd., Sellersville, PA 18960. Family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 prior to the service.

            Interment will be immediately following the service at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery Ridge Valley, 910 Allentown Road, Sellersville, PA 18960.
