P. Stephen "Steve" Tenley, of Hilltown Twp. and formerly of Harleysville, PA, passed away Saturday June 29, 2024, at his home.  He was 83.

He was the loving husband of Dorothy Janice (Norris) Tenley.  The couple had celebrated their 58th Wedding Anniversary on August 14, 2023.

Born in Abington, PA, he was the son of the late Paul Stephen Sr. and Irene (Rosenberger) Tenley.  A 1958 graduate of Central Bucks High School, Doylestown, PA, he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education & Health from West Chester University, West Chester, PA, in 1962.  He went on to earn his Master's Degree in History from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA.

During the 1960's, Mr. Tenley proudly served with the U. S. Army and Army Reserves, attaining the rank of Specialist.

For over 40 years, Mr. Tenley was employed as a Physical Education Teacher with the Souderton School District at the Indian Valley Middle School, Harleysville, PA, where he also served as a football and track coach, until retiring. Previously, he taught at Girard College, Philadelphia, PA.

He also had an interest in real estate, having owned, operated and maintained several apartment buildings over the years.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Deep Run, Perkasie, PA.

A Philadelphia sports enthusiast, Mr. Tenley loved playing weekly golf games with his brothers, enjoyed wrestling and was particularly fond of supporting his grandsons by attending their wrestling meets.  An avid pheasant and small game hunter, he especially enjoyed feeding the birds and tending to his large garden and corn.  And, he will be remembered for his multitude of "Dad jokes".

Surviving with his wife are three children, Pamela "Pam" T. Arciuolo and her husband Robert of Bethlehem, PA, Mark W. Tenley and his wife Nongkhran, of Bangkok, Thailand, and Douglas P. Tenley, of Perkasie, PA; three grandchildren, Matthew Arciuolo, Christopher Arciuolo, and Lauren Arciuolo; and a brother, Kenneth Tenley, of Wayne, PA.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn and Bruce Tenley.

His Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at the Presbyterian Church of Deep Run, 16 Irish Meetinghouse Road, Perkasie, PA, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.  Inurnment will follow in the Presbyterian Church of Deep Run Columbarium.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church of Deep Run, 16 Irish Meetinghouse Road, Perkasie, PA  18944.
