Myra Jean (Shelly) Wilsey, 72, of Perkasie, PA, died on April 26, 2023, at her home.
She was the loving wife of Michael A. Wilsey, with whom she would have celebrated their 35 th wedding anniversary on May 14.
Born in Quakertown, PA, she was the daughter of the late William C. and Lucy (Schultz) Shelly. A 1969 graduate of Quakertown Community High School and Upper Bucks Vocational Tech School, Myra was then employed as a hairdresser in the Quakertown area for many years.
She was a longtime member of First United Church of Christ in Quakertown where she was an active volunteer in the kitchen ministry. She also enjoyed the outdoors, cooking, and baking, and was known for her many generous Christmas cookies. Most of all, she loved her family and time spent with her great nephews.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two brothers: William T. Shelly of Quakertown, Robert A. Shelly and his wife Patti of Coopersburg, two nieces: Alison Stebbings and her husband Dane, Deanna Melideo and her husband Scott, a nephew, Andrew Wilsey and his fiancé Cynthia Blatz, four great nephews: Miles and Paul Stebbings, Dominic and William Melideo, and brother-in-law, Timothy Wilsey and his wife Susan of Quakertown, and a sister-in-law, Patricia Mitchell and her husband David of Quakertown.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023, at 11 AM in the First United Church of Christ, 151 S. Fourth St., Quakertown, PA 18951. Interment will follow in the Trinity Great Swamp Cemetery in Spinnerstown. Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 4, from 7-9 PM at the church, and again on Friday from 9-11 AM prior to the service. In honor of Myra, everyone is invited to dress in pink. Memorial contributions may be made in Myra's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Arrangements are by the Sadler-Suess Funeral Home, 33 N. Main Street, Telford, PA .
