Murray Thomas Logan, left us peacefully in the early morning hours of December 20, 2024, at home and surrounded by his loved ones and his beloved dog, Roscoe.
He was born on November 25, 1938, in Sidney, NY, the youngest son of Murray Charles and Martha Delphine (Silvernail) Logan.
Murray spent most of his life in Sidney, NY, graduating from Sidney High School. Murray then enlisted in the United States Army, receiving an honorable discharge in 1967.
He worked in the family business, Logan and Sons Grocery Store, in Sidney, and was later co-proprietor of Logan and Sons with his brother, Don Logan, for a combined 47 years until retiring in 2003.
Murray was highly referred to as the most eligible bachelor in Sidney until he was reunited with the love of his life, Patsy (Searle) Budine, whom he married in 1980. His wife, Patsy, preceded him in death in 2016. With his marriage to Patsy, came her three grown children, Barbara, Thomas and Sandra.
He was a quiet man with an immense sense of humor, whose laughter was contagious. Anyone who knew Murray absolutely loved him and wanted to be around him.
Murray was a lifelong Baptist and was active in several groups at the Hilltown Baptist Church, Hilltown, PA.
After he retired and sold the business, he and his wife Pat moved from Sidney to Perkasie, PA, to be closer to their children.
He is survived by his three stepchildren, Barbara Jones and her husband David, of Hilltown, PA, Thomas Budine and his wife Laurie, of Barto, PA, and Sandra Karlberg and her husband Viding, of Gardenville, PA; four grandchildren, Melissa Johnson, Gregory Jones and his wife Erin, Jessica Budine, and Thomas J. Budine and his wife Erica; six great-grandchildren; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jaqueline M. Shields and his brother, Donald Murray Logan.
The family thanks the team of workers from Caring Hospice for support and guidance with helping Murray in his final months. The team of nurses, nurses' aides, social worker and chaplain were a blessing. Thank you!
Funeral Services will be held at a later date. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family in the Old Hilltown Baptist Cemetery, Hilltown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Caring Hospice, 400 Commerce Dr., Suite C, Fort Washington, PA 19034, or to Hilltown Baptist Church, 26 Upper Church Road, Chalfont, PA 18914
