Modestino Allen
"Al" Romano
October 20, 1942 – September 30, 2022
Modestino Allen "Al" Romano, of Sellersville, PA, passed away at his home on Friday, September 30, 2022. He was 79.
Born in Harrison, NJ, he was the son of the late Frederick and Reeva (Jessner) Romano. He was a graduate of Harrison High School, Harrison, NJ.
He served with the U.S. Marines during the early 1960's.
Al started his working career as a farmer. He then became a truck driver for many years. He found that he had a love of animals, especially horses. He started caring for and training race horses. He started working the East Coast Circuit eventually ending up in Ocala Florida, where he spent many years caring for and training race horses. After moving back to Pennsylvania he continued to work and take care of horses.
He had a love of nature and being outdoors. Farming and animals were his life. He enjoyed giving pony rides to children.
He is survived by a daughter, Denise A. Dearden and her husband Robert, of Sellersville; three grandchildren, Melissa Zirkel and her fiancé Michael Stobaugh, Desiree Zirkel and her fiancé Andrew Robbins and Travis Zirkel and his partner Joshua Kessler; a great granddaughter, Anisten Robbins and a brother, James Allen Romano, of Kent, CT.
Services will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Round a Bit 4H club, c/o Jeanette Ann Cobb, 197 Old Forge Road, Upper Black Eddy, PA 18972.
Arrangements are by the Sadler-Suess Funeral Home, Telford, PA.
