Michael Robert Billups, of Sellersville, PA, and formerly of East Rockhill Twp., PA, and Reisterstown, MD, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at his son’s home in East Rockhill Twp. He was 77.
He was the loving husband of 52 years of the late Janet L. (Kehoe) Billups until her passing on August 13, 2024. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Justin Billups, in 2000.
Born in Colchester, VT, he was the son of the late Robert Roland and Phyllis Augusta (Leary) Billups.
A graduate of Xavier High School, Concord, MA, he attained both his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, MA.
Mr. Billups was a proud U. S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War serving stateside as a food inspector throughout his enlistment from 1969 until being honorably discharged in 1971.
He began his professional career in mechanical engineering designing and commissioning manufacturing plants with McShane, Inc., Baltimore, MD, where he worked for 23 years. Then, he was employed by Willard Engineering, Jenkintown, for five years, before joining Henderson Engineers, Philadelphia, PA, in 2006 where he worked until retiring in 2021.
Mr. Billups was an active member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hilltown, PA.
A sports shooting enthusiast, he was a member of the National Rifle Association and faithfully shot every Wednesday evening at the Branch Valley Fish & Game, Perkasie, PA. He enjoyed playing chess and volunteering at the church. Most of all, he loved following his son and grandsons at their baseball games, scouting events, and spending time with his family. Sunday lunches at his son’s house were a standing tradition he never missed.
He is survived by a son, Bryan M. Billups and his wife Carmen Oana, of East Rockhill Twp.; two grandchildren, Adam and Aaron; and four sisters, Joyce France, of Westminster, MA, Patricia Billups, of Dallas, TX, Kathy Leary, of Albuquerque, NM, and Christie Billups, of Chicago, IL.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 100 Broad Street, Hilltown, PA, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment with military honors will follow in Tohickon Union Cemetery, Perkasie, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, P. O. Box 31, Hilltown, PA 18927.
Arrangements are by the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home & Crematory, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA.
