December 28, 1946 – August 31, 2023
Merle L. Schuster, of Perkasie, PA, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Twp., PA. He was 76.
He was the loving husband of Eileen J. (Crouthamel) Schuster. The couple had celebrated their 59th Wedding Anniversary on June 13, 2023.
Born in Quakertown, PA, he was the son of the late Ralph W. and Pauline C. (Charles) Schuster.
Mr. Schuster was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Regent Valley Builders, Lansdale, PA, for over 30 years until retiring in 2010, where he continued to work part-time for a number of years following his retirement. For the last couple of years, he tended to the lawns at the Windmill Day School and Camp, Doylestown, PA.
Mr. Schuster was a member of St. Stephen's United Church of Christ, Perkasie.
He was a member of and former Vice President of Keelersville Club, Keelersville, PA. A NASCAR enthusiast, he enjoyed attending races over the years. An avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, he loved gardening, hunting and spending time at his mountain home in Laceyville, Wyoming County, PA.
Surviving with his wife are two children, Bradley D. Schuster and his wife Lori, of Perkasie, and Robin A. Adams and her husband Scott, of Sellersville, PA; five grandchildren, Morgan Ladner and her husband Michael, Jamie Schuster and his wife Meghan, Danielle Schuster and her husband Jake Franklin, Courtney Friend and her husband Matthew, and Christopher Adams and his wife Meredith; five great-grandchildren, Dylan, Kinley, Easton, Remi and Harvey; and two sisters, Erma Moyer of Telford, PA, and Patricia Frick and her husband Eldred, of Chapin, SC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Schuster, and a brother-in-law, C. Kenneth Moyer.
His Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at St. Stephen's United Church of Christ, 110 North Sixth Street, Perkasie, where family and friends may call from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in St. Stephen's U.C.C. Cemetery, Perkasie.
