Mary E. Yoder, of Telford and formerly of Perkasie, PA, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at the Lutheran Community at Telford, Telford, PA. She was 85.
She was the loving wife of the late J. LeRoy Yoder who passed away on June 14, 2014.
Born in Perkasie, she was the daughter of the late Mahlon and Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Crouthamel) Landis. She was a 1955 graduate of Pennridge High School, Perkasie.
Mrs. Yoder was employed by Ames Department Store, Lansdale, PA, for seven years until retiring in 2004. Previously, she worked for Best & Co., Montgomeryville, PA, Lockhart Farms, Chalfont, PA, and in her early years, the Philco Tube-Ford Co., Lansdale, PA.
She was a member of St. Andrew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie, where she was active with the Sewing Circle and volunteered with the Church Kitchen Committee.
A member of the Perkasie Historical Society, Mrs. Yoder volunteered for many years with the Pennridge Meals on Wheels program. She was a sports enthusiast, especially of baseball, and dedicated fan of the Philadelphia Phillies. And, she loved ice cream and camping in the Lancaster County area.
She is survived by three children, Kevin J. Yoder and his wife Rebekah, of East Greenville, PA, Sherri L. Yoder, of Sellersville, PA, and Lisa G. Schmidlechner and her husband Kurt, of Quakertown, PA; and three grandchildren, Leland J. Yoder and his wife Emily, Erin M. Yoder and Erica N. Schmidlechner. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Esther Hendricks and Kathryn Bergey, and two brothers, Russell K. Landis and Robert M. Landis.
Her Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 24, 2022, at St. Andrew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 20 Dill Avenue, Perkasie, PA, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. Andrew's Union Cemetery, Perkasie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew's Union Cemetery, c/o Ernest A. Bouc, Jr. 140 East Walnut Street, Sellersville, PA 18960.
Arrangements are by the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA.
