Marilyn J. Nabor, formerly of Doylestown and Perkasie, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Quakertown Center – Genesis Health Care, Quakertown, PA. She was 96.
She was the widow of the late George Reid Nevells, who passed away in 1997, and the late Norbert Nabor, who passed away in 2002.
Born on April 7, 1927, in Boston, MA, she was the only child of the late James Victor Miller and the late Marion (Thomas) Miller Leonard and was raised, along with her mother, by her beloved stepfather, John R. Leonard.
She worked as an executive secretary for the Scott Paper Company and, in later years, as a secretary for her husband's business, George R. Nevells Associates Surveyors. She prided herself as an excellent receptionist and secretary.
Mrs. Nabor enjoyed summers spent in Ocean City, New Jersey, with her best friend, Gloria Fratrik. She also was an accomplished Scrabble player.
Known as "Bubba" and "MeMom" to her family and friends, she is survived by two sons, Paul R. Nevells and his wife Morra, and Thomas T. Nevells and his wife Deborah; four grandchildren, Jennifer D. (Nevells) Manderachi and her husband Matthew, Joshua E. Nevells and his wife Kristen, Christopher Nevells, and Matthew Nevells and his wife Karen; and nine great-grandchildren, Emily Manderachi, Justin Manderachi, Lily Rose Nevells, Mia Nevells, Mikayla Nevells, Declan Nevells, Julia Nevells, Timmy Konyk and Mattie Nevells and wife Briannah.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William Reid Nevells, in 1987.
Services with interment in Kellers Church Cemetery, Kellers Church (Perkasie), PA, will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
