Obituary

Marie K. Smith, of Perkasie, PA, passed away Monday, May 29, 2023, at her home.  She was 95.

She was the loving wife of Aston "Ash" C. Smith.  The couple had celebrated their 73rd Wedding Anniversary on September 10, 2022.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Keating. She was a 1946 graduate of Roxborough High School, Roxborough, PA.

Mrs. Smith worked as the Secretary to the Treasurer of the Tasty Baking Company, Philadelphia, for ten years until retiring in 1958.

She was a member of the Re:New Bible Church, Perkasie, and a former active member of the Hilltown Baptist Church, Hilltown, PA, where she taught Sunday School, participated in Bible Studies, belonged to the Handbell Choir, and volunteered with the Pioneer Girls Club. She also served as a Greeter and volunteered with the Missions Committee and Mission Consortium for Hilltown Baptist over the years.

An avid quilter, Mrs. Smith volunteered as a Girl Scouts Leader for a number of years. She will be remembered most for her love for her family.

Surviving with her husband are her daughter, Janet Smith, of Perkasie; and her "grand doggie", Hope.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David Smith.

Graveside Services with interment in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Prospectville, PA, will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ascend Hospice, 1120 Welsh Road, Suite 220, Gwynedd Corporate Center, North Wales, PA  19454.

Arrangements are by the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA.
