Marian M. Pfautz, formerly of Ephrata, PA, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Hamilton Arms Center, Lancaster, PA.  She was 87.

She was the loving wife of the late Paul R. Pfautz. The couple especially enjoyed taking bus trips together traveling down South.

Born in Silverdale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Martha (Musselman) Schmell.   A 1954 graduate of Pennridge High School, Perkasie, she attained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Bluffton College, Bluffton, OH, in 1958.

During her growing years, she worked on the family farm.  Following her graduation from college, Mrs. Pfautz taught at Pennridge Elementary School for three years.  Then, she worked as a librarian for the Mennonite Central Committee in Akron, PA, before her employment as a kitchen worker in a retirement home.  After that, she worked at several Ephrata area factories for a number of years until retiring.

Mrs. Pfautz took great pride in tending to her home.

She is survived by a brother, Arthur M. Schmell and his wife Shirley, of Silverdale; four nephews; 11 great-nieces and great-nephews; and many great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

Services with interment in the Deep Run Mennonite West Church Cemetery, Bedminster Twp., PA, will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Deep Run Mennonite Church West, 1008 Deep Run Road, Perkasie, PA  18944.
