Margaret I. (Steskal) Worthington, of Telford and formerly of Perkasie, PA, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at the Lutheran Community at Telford, Telford, PA. She was 90.
Born in East Rockhill Twp., PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Maggie (Young) Steskal. She was a 1950 graduate of Sell-Perk High School, Perkasie.
Ms. Worthington was employed in the Marketing Department for Heritage Towers, Doylestown, PA, for 17 years until retiring in 2004. Earlier, she was employed as a secretary in the Engineering Department for Schulmerich Carillons, Sellersville, PA.
She was a former member of St. Stephen's United Church of Christ, Perkasie.
In her younger years, Ms. Worthington volunteered as a Den Mother for Troop 183 that met at the Peace Tohickon Church, Perkasie. An avid collector of antiques, she loved to travel especially to the shore and Florida. She enjoyed going to the movies and to shows, particularly at the State Theatre in Easton, PA, and the Valley Forge Music Fair. She also had a penchant for playing cards, especially Pinochle.
She will be remembered most as a loving, caring and devoted mother who cherished raising her children and playing with and babysitting for her grandchildren and nephews. She would fondly say that she had "the perfect little brother".
Margaret was a very loving, giving lady who smiled easily and loved her family more than life! When younger, she loved to travel with a select group of women friends to shows in Philadelphia and New York. She also traveled with her parents, including many bus trips. She was so happy to be blessed with grandchildren and enjoyed them whenever she could, babysitting or taking them places with her.
She is survived by two children, Stephen R. Atlee, of Telford, PA, and Deborah Francis and her companion Walter Sock, of Telford; five grandchildren, Jesse Francis, Matthew Francis, Michael Atlee, Ellie Atlee, and Mendel Atlee; and a brother, Richard C. Steskal and his wife Kathleen, Bechtelsville, PA.
