Margaret Ann Scairato, of Jeffersonville, PA, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Einstein Medical Center, East Norriton Township, PA. She was 88.
She was the loving wife of the late Nicholas Scairato until his passing on October 25, 2001.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Sara (Saylor) Hellings. She was a 1952 graduate of Roxborough High School, Philadelphia, PA.
A homemaker, she had been employed in the Business Office at the former Sacred Heart Hospital, Norristown, PA, from 1981 until its closing.
Mrs. Scairato was a member of Epiphany of our Lord Church, Plymouth Meeting, PA, where she was a Ladies Auxiliary Board Member. More recently, she was active with St. Helena's and Holy Savior's Seniors Groups where she was particularly fond of participating in their travel excursions.
A member of the Roxborough High School Alumni Association, she enjoyed traveling, the theater and playing cards. She was an enthusiastic Philadelphia sports fan, in particular the Eagles, 76ers and Phillies. She will be remembered for her love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and especially for the thoughtful care packages she mailed to her family while they were students in college and beyond.
She is survived by five children, Karen Lee "KT" Newton and her husband Jon, of Bryn Mawr, PA, Daniel Stephen Tomlinson III and his wife Jean, of Houston, TX, David Charles Tomlinson and his wife Claire, of East Norriton, PA, Lisa Antoinette Nyce and her husband Brian, of Telford, PA, and Christopher John Tomlinson and his wife Jenifer, of Eagleville, PA; seven grandchildren, Kelli Tomlinson, Daniel Tomlinson, IV, and his wife Brooke, David Tomlinson, Alexia Tomlinson and her husband Timothy Smith, Kylie Tomlinson, Shea Tomlinson, and Christopher Tomlinson, Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Idris Tomlinson, Rabiah Tomlinson, Sarah Tomlinson and Jaxon Tomlinson; a brother, William Hellings and his wife Lucille, of Royersford, PA; and a sister, Barbara Casino, of Norristown, PA. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Alex Tomlinson.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 3050 Walton Road, Plymouth Meeting, PA, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
