November 9, 1941 – February 9, 2024
Marcus Lertora, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away Friday, February 9, 2024, at St. Clair Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was 82.
He was the loving husband of almost 52 years of the late Audrey (Drummond) Lertora.
Born in Newton, NJ, he was the son of the late John Joseph Jr. and Freda (Grathwohl) Lertora.
Mr. Lertora made a successful career working for many years for Rohm and Haas as a research chemist and developed roof mastic polymers known as Rhoplex elasomeric coatings, and later retired after working for Red Devil.
An avid deer and small game hunter, he was often accompanied by his dog "Brownie" on hunting trips. He also enjoyed fishing especially in Oklahoma, North Carolina and at the Jersey Shore. Known as a "Jack of All Trades", he was handy fixing cars and working on his house. He also proudly tended to his gardens.
He is survived by two children, Julie Lertora, of Melbourne, FL, and Todd Lertora, of Mt. Lebanon, PA. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Vincent Lertora.
His Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 16, 2024, at the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Kellers Church Cemetery, Perkasie, PA.
