Loretta L. Payne, of Hilltown Twp., PA, died Thursday, July 11, 2013, in the Golden Living Center, Doylestown, PA. She was 92. She was the wife of the late LeRoy C. Payne, Sr., who died November 9, 1980. Born in Trenton, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Gabriel and Stephanie (Olenzenska) Slonicki. She and her husband owned and operated the former 20th Century Luncheonette, Philadelphia, PA, where she also served as a waitress, for over 10 years until retiring. Mrs. Payne enjoyed crocheting, cooking, flowers and following televangelist Joel Osteen. She was an animal lover, especially her dogs and birds. And, she was an avid basketball fan, particularly the NBA. She is survived by a daughter, Loretta Payne Nelson, of Hilltown; a son, Lawrence Payne and his companion Gloria, of Lansdale, PA; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a brother, Gabriel John Slonicki, of Bordentown, NJ. She was preceded in death by a son, LeRoy Payne, Jr.; a granddaughter, Lori A. M. Payne; two brothers and a sister. Her Memorial Services will be held Friday, July 19, 2013, at 4:00 PM, at the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA, where family and friends may call from 3:00 PM until service time. Interment will be held privately in Richland Friends Meeting Cemetery, Quakertown, PA.
