Lloyd William Dooley, of Sellersville and formerly of Doylestown, PA, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at his home. He was 75.
He was the loving husband of Darlene S. (Shelly) Dooley. The couple had celebrated their 8th Wedding Anniversary on September 25, 2025.
Born in Miami Beach, FL, he was the son of the late William Chester “Jack” Dooley and the late Lucille Bonnell (Lloyd) Cook. He was a member of the Class of 1970, the first graduating class of Central Bucks East High School, Buckingham, PA,
Following basic training with the U. S. Navy, Lloyd served with the Army National Guard for eight years before transferring to the U. S. Air Force. He proudly served with the Air Force for 34 years until his honorable discharge in 2006.
Lloyd began his career with the Pennridge Waste Water Treatment Authority, Sellersville, PA, in 1980, retiring as the Maintenance Supervisor in 2015 following 35 years of employment.
He volunteered with the Sellersville Fire Department since 1980 serving actively for 30 years before being named a Life Member. He was a member of the Nase-Kraft American Legion Post No. 255, Sellersville, where he participated with the Color Guard.
A sports enthusiast, Lloyd loved playing golf, softball and football over the years as well as spending time with his fellow sports fan friends and watching Sunday football. He was especially dedicated to anything honoring his children.
An avid handyman, craftsman, outdoorsman, nature and animal lover, he loved tending to his garden and annual August camping trips with his Air Force friends. Lloyd also enjoyed being the star of the dance floor, listening to music, traveling and hanging out with his neighbors. He will be remembered for his unwavering support, kind humble heart, selflessness and love for others, always with a helping hand. He was a true perfectionist in all things he did with an independent spirit.
Surviving with his wife are three children, Alan Michael Dooley and his life partner Rachel Townsley, of Yorktown, VA, Rachel Anne Dooley, of Perkasie, PA, and Corinne Marcel Haugan and her husband Mike, of Bealeton, VA; two stepchildren, Shelley Kozuch and her husband Joseph, of Macungie, PA, and Eric Ritter, of Alburtis, PA; and seven grandchildren, Rye, Eden, Vaughn, Murphy, Taylor, Vincent and Joseph. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Dooley, in infancy.
His Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, April 17, 2026, at the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home & Crematory, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA, where family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon.
Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
Special Note: An Oldies Dance dedicated to Lloyd will be held from 6:00 to 10:00 PM on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Nase-Kraft American Legion Post No. 255, 75 N. Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960.
