Kenneth A. Schaefer, Jr., formerly of Perkasie, PA, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Phoebe Richland Health Care Center, Richlandtown, PA.  He was 80.

He was the loving husband of Marilyn G. (McCormack) Schaefer.  The couple had celebrated their 56th Wedding Anniversary on May 17, 2025.

Born in San Antonio, TX, he was the son of the late Kenneth A. Sr. and Alice (Daniels) Schaefer.  A 1963 graduate of Abington High School, Abington, PA, he attended Delaware Valley College, Doylestown, PA, and Penn State University Ogontz Campus, Abington.

Ken was employed for many years as a purchasing agent for Asplundh Tree Expert Co., Chalfont, PA, and then entered retirement in 2010.

A former member of Abington Presbyterian Church, Abington, PA, he was a member of St. Stephen's United Church of Christ, Perkasie, PA, where he served on the Church Consistory and the Facilities Committee.  He also chaired St. Stephen's' bell tower renovation project.

Ken volunteered for many years as a coach for the Pennridge Little League.  He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, especially of the Phillies, and enjoyed collecting baseball cards and sports memorabilia.  In addition to being a photography enthusiast, he loved collecting model trains proudly owning an HO Scale Model Train setup.  He enjoyed the outdoors and maintaining the flower gardens around his home.  After retirement, Ken and Marilyn enjoyed traveling together and with friends, especially taking several river cruises throughout Europe.

Surviving with his wife are twin daughters, Karen G. Phillips and her husband James, of Ringoes, NJ, and Brenda L. Mergenthaler and her husband John, of Furlong, PA; and two grandchildren, Ryan and Casey Phillips, whom he loved dearly and enjoyed attending all of their sporting events and other activities over the years.

His Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, October 6, 2025, at St. Stephen's United Church of Christ, 110 North Sixth Street, Perkasie, PA, where family and friends may call from 2:00 to 3:00 PM.  Interment will be in St. Stephen's United Church of Christ Cemetery, Perkasie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen's United Church of Christ, 110 North Sixth Street, Perkasie, PA  18944.
