Kenneth Howard Gable, of West Rockhill Twp., PA, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Quakertown Center – Genesis Health Care, Quakertown, PA. He was 83.
He was the loving husband of Fay E. (Weikel) Gable. The couple had celebrated their 48th Wedding Anniversary on July 1, 2025.
Born in Quakertown, PA, he was the son of the late Milton and Marion (Gale) Gable. A 1960 graduate of Quakertown High School, he attained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Metallurgy from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA.
Mr. Gable was employed in metal finishing and plating by the former AMETEK, Inc., U. S. Gauge Division, Sellersville, PA, for 46 years until the company’s closing in 2011.
He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Sellersville, PA.
A 32nd Degree Mason with the Lehigh Consistory, Allentown, he was a 50-year member of the Quakertown Masonic Lodge No. 512, Quakertown, PA, where he was a Past Master and served in all of the chairs.
Skiing was Mr. Gable’s passion. He was a member of the ski patrol at Bear Creek Mountain Resort, Macungie,PA, for many years until 2023. He served as a Senior First Aid Instructor & Evaluator, traveling to area ski resorts to train and evaluate. Recently, he was proud to have earned his Ski Patrol Number and he was named to the Snow Sports Hall of Fame. He was a member and Past President of two ski clubs as well as the Ski Council. In addition to skiing in Utah and at Bear Creek, he loved traveling to the Western United States, Canada and Europe.
Mr. Gable was a dedicated fan of Penn State and Philadelphia Eagles Football. And, he loved sailing and racing on his sailboat especially at Lake Nockamixon State Park, Quakertown, and in Maryland.
Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Theresa Hawkins, of Effort, PA; five grandchildren, Brandon Barndt and his partner Joseph Loffio, Breanna Barndt and her fiancé Michael Hagenbuch, Tessa Hawkins, Taylor Hawkins and Faith Hawkins; two great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Maverick Hagenbuch; a sister-in-law, Lisa Gable, of Warminster, PA; and a nephew, Robert Gable. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Gable.
His Funeral Services will be held at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home & Crematory, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA, where family and friends may call from 4:00 to 5:00 PM. A Masonic Service will be held at 4:30 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Quakertown Masonic Lodge No. 512, P. O. Box 16, Quakertown, PA 18951.
