Obituary

Kenneth S. Beer, of Hilltown Twp., PA, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Twp., PA.  He was 92.

He was the loving husband of Janet (Moyer) Beer.  The couple had celebrated their 71 st Anniversary on August 26, 2022.

Born in Bedminster Twp., PA, he was the son of the late William H. Sr. and Carrie Mae (Slotter) Beer.  He was a 1947 graduate of Hilltown High School, Hilltown, PA.

Along with his wife, Mr. Beer owned and operated the family dairy, crop and beef farm in Hilltown Township for many years.  During the 1970's through the early 1990's, he also worked as a salesman for the Pioneer Seed Company.

He was an active member of St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie (Kellers Church), PA, where he was a former member and Past President of the Church Council and sang in the Church Choir.  He also served as Sunday School Superintendent, taught Sunday School and volunteered on the Church Building Committee as well as various other committees for the Church over the years.

A long-time member of the Hilltown Township Planning Commission, Mr. Beer also served on the Bucks County Land Preservation Board.  An avid hunter, he also loved to sing.

Surviving with his wife are four children, Susan D. Lear and her husband Scott, of Hilltown Twp., K. Rodney Beer and his wife Holly, of Preston, MN, Sharon K. Myers and her husband Wayne, of Hilltown Twp., and Roger D. Beer and his wife Karen, of Hilltown Twp.; 12 grandchildren, Christopher Lear and his wife Andrea, Jennifer Robinson and her husband Brian, Craig Lear and his wife Carey, Matthew Beer and his wife Dana, Andrew Beer and his wife Tonia, Stephanie Lozenski and her husband Jason, Emilie Hebel and her husband Ryan, Daniel Myers and his wife Julie, Laura Heckler and her husband Randy, Ryan Beer and his wife Natasha, Jason Beer and his wife Christina, and Janel Beer; 30 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Pauline Wasser, of Souderton, PA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Ella Hess, Florence Detweiler, and Virginia Bishop, and three brothers, Joseph H., Howard H. and William H. Beer, Jr.

His Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3668 Ridge Road, Perkasie (Kellers Church), PA, where family and friends may call from 9:30 to 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow in the adjacent Kellers Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church Property Fund, 3668 Ridge Road, Perkasie, PA  18944.
