Katharine K. "Kit" Apple, formerly of Perkasie and Souderton, PA, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025, at the home of her daughter in Sellersville, PA. She was 99.
She was the loving wife of the late Charles Winfield Apple, DDS, until his passing on January 3, 2010, and the loving wife of her first husband, Robert B. Deibler, until his passing on March 4, 1976.
Born in Delmont, PA, she was the daughter of the late Wilson G. and Beulah (Kemmerer) Kunkle. She was a 1943 graduate of Franklin Township High School, Westmoreland County, PA.
Mrs. Apple was employed as a bank attendant for many years with the former Bucks County Bank & Trust Co. at its Chestnut Street branch in Perkasie. In 1960, she worked as the nighttime switchboard operator for Grand View Hospital, Sellersville, PA, before working as the Assistant Librarian at the former Arch Street Elementary School in the Pennridge School District, Perkasie.
She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie, and Mt. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kutztown, PA. She was a former member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Sellersville, where she taught Sunday School for a number of years.
A long-time "Pink Lady" volunteer with Grand View Hospital, she was a former member of Lenape Chapter No. 339, Order of the Eastern Star. She loved her dogs, many of which she rescued. An avid reader, she especially enjoyed tending to her gardens as well as playing "Bridge" and golf. She will also be remembered for her love for hosting parties, particularly on New Year's Day.
She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Franckowiak and her husband Jack, of Kutztown, PA, and Robin Deibler and her husband Frank Phillipeck, of Sellersville, PA; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Deibler, of Quakertown, PA; four stepchildren, Tom Apple and his wife Annie, of Edwards, CO, Jeff Apple and his wife Janice, of Satellite Beach, FL, Jon Apple and his wife Susan, of Hilltown PA, and Betsy Shaffer and her husband Jerry, of Perkasie, PA; three grandchildren, Jack Richard Franckowiak, II, Kate Bronson and her husband Arthur, and Lucas Deibler Allen; six step-grandchildren, Ashley Smith and her husband Chaplin, Aubrie Stone and her husband Brian, Nickolas, David Apple and his wife Chelsea, Joshua Apple and his wife Tessa, and Shelby Shaffer; three great-grandchildren, Arthur G. Bronson, III, Lillian Grace Bronson, and Robert John Bronson; seven step-great-grandchildren, Shepard, Summit and Sawyer Smith, Palmer and Parker Stone, and Beckett and Rory Apple; a brother, Wilson "Bill" Kunkle, of Hesperia, CA, and two sisters, Lois Roberts, of Wisconsin and Sally Jacobsen, of Porterville, CA.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Deibler, II, on June 20, 2012.
Family and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Services to be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 19 South Fifth Street, Perkasie, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Last Chance Ranch, 9 Beck Road, Quakertown, PA 18951.
Arrangements are by the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home & Crematory, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA.
