Karen A. Bishop, of Dublin, PA, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2025. She was 72.
She was the loving wife of Dennis D. Bishop. The couple had celebrated their 51st Wedding Anniversary on August 3, 2025.
Born in Doylestown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Forrest Stanley and Florence Arlene (Permar) Miller. A 1970 graduate of Central Bucks High School, Doylestown, PA, she attained her Bachelor's Degree as well as her Master's Degree in Education from Kutztown University, Kutztown, PA.
Karen was employed as a teacher for the Bucks County Intermediate Unit in Sellersville, New Britain, and Perkasie, PA, for a combined 36 years until retiring in June 2010.
She was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ, Dublin, PA, where she served on the Church Consistory, currently as President, and sang in the Church Choir.
Karen was a 51-year member and past 20-year secretary of the Dublin Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary where she was very active with committees and all of the major fundraising events such as the Craft Show, Carnival, Flea Market, and she excelled on the Soup Day Committee. She was a member and past officer of the Doylestown Chapter No. 327, Order of the Eastern Star, Doylestown, PA, having served in the offices of Starpoint and Organist.
Along with sewing, gardening and playing piano, Karen enjoyed spending time at a hunting camp in Allegheny Township, Potter County, PA. Her most cherished role was as grandmother, and she loved to cook with her grandchildren and teach them cooking courses.
Surviving with her husband are two children, Patrick D. Bishop and his wife Stacey, of Richboro, PA, and Cynthia A. Bishop and her husband Robert Richey, of Quakertown, PA; six grandchildren, Ashlyn, Nathan, Reagan, Dean, Samuel and Jaina; a brother, Jeffrey S. Miller and his wife Valerie, of Fairfax Station, VA; and a nephew, Andrew Miller.
Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at St. Luke's United Church of Christ, 141 S. Main St., Dublin, PA, where family and friends may call from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM. At Eastern Star Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the Church. Interment will follow in St. Luke's Union Cemetery, Dublin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dublin Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, 194 N. Main Street, Box 283, Dublin, PA 18917 or www.dublinladiesaux.com .
Arrangements are by the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home & Crematory, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA.
