Joseph G. Hemberger, of Perkasie and formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed away Friday, January 31, 2025, surrounded by his family at his home.  He was 92.

He was the loving husband of Margaret J. "Marge" (Blutgen) Hemberger.  The couple had celebrated their 67th Wedding Anniversary on May 11, 2024.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph Michael and Florence (Seeger) Hemberger.  He was a 1950 graduate of The Murrell Dobbins Career and Technical Education High School, Philadelphia.

A proud U. S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War, he was stationed on the U.S.S. Deuel (APA-160) and was honorably discharged in 1955 following two years of service.

Mr. Hemberger was the final inspector for Philadelphia Gear Works at its Philadelphia and later King of Prussia, PA, locations for a total of 42 years until retiring in 1994.

He was a member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hilltown, PA, where he was active with the Church Senior Group.

An all-sports enthusiast, Mr. Hemberger was a dedicated fan of the Philadelphia sports teams including the Eagles, Phillies, Sixers and Flyers.  He loved to vacation at destinations in Hawaii, Mexico, Grand Cayman, Florida, North Carolina, and the Caribbean and especially enjoyed many trips to Walt Disney World.  He was particularly fond of his wife's cooking as well as traveling to the casinos and watching television.  First and foremost, he loved spending time with his family.

Surviving with his wife are two children, Mary Anne Duffy and her husband Gregory, of Perkasie, PA, and Joseph S. Hemberger and his wife Alane, of Jamison, PA; four grandchildren, Amy Jeffers and her husband Patrick, Gregory Duffy and his wife Danielle, Jillian Warren and her husband Ian, and Joseph Hemberger and his fiancée Courtney Smith; and five great-grandchildren, Arabella, Aurora, Elena, Reece and Miranda. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Devlin and Barbara DeChiaro.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 100 Broad Street, Hilltown, PA, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, 3797 County Line Road, Chalfont, PA.
