Born in Norristown, PA, he was the son of the late Oscar Geiser and Viola (Crouthamel). He was a graduate of North Penn High School, Class of 1962, and attended Edinboro University.
Joe was a State Farm Insurance agent for 38 years before retiring in 2024.
Through State Farm’s Millionaire Club, he earned many opportunities to travel the world, something he truly loved. He also enjoyed entrepreneurship throughout his life.
He especially loved his years raising, training, and racing Standardbred horses at the farm he built, Old Stage Racing.
For more than 35 years, Joe served as a ski instructor and ski patrolman at Big Boulder Ski Area. During those years, he was especially proud of his work with the Special Olympics, where he personally trained young adults to ski and compete.
Joe was the father of three children whom he shared with his former wife, Arlene (Stratton) Geiser, who passed away in 2007.
He is survived by his children: Jeffrey Geiser and his wife Joan (Imms) of Quakertown, PA; Elizabeth Knize and her husband Gary of Harleysville, PA; and Amy Hoffman and her husband Bill of Brigantine, NJ. He is also survived by his grandchildren Mara, Emma, Will, Ellie, Reiley, Molly, Jaden, Matthew, and Stephen.
