Obituary

John I. Weierman of Village of Neshaminy Falls, North Wales, PA, and formerly of Hatfield, PA, passed away peacefully on December 25th.He was 96.

He was the loving husband of Jean (Dinger) Weierman, the couple celebrated 72 years of marriage this past June.

Born in Hatfield, PA, he was the son of the late Irwin P. and Florence (Lesher) Weierman. He was a graduate of Hatfield High School, where he graduated as President of Class 1945. He later attained his bachelor's degree from Philadelphia Textile Institute in 1950 (now known as Jefferson University).

Mr. Weierman was a proud World War II Veteran, serving in the Naval Air Corp V-5 Program. He was a charter member of the American Legion, Hatfield Post #933.

Mr. Weierman worked for over 65 years in the chemical distribution industry, and most recently was employed at Coyne Chemical Company, Croydon, PA, until his retirement as the position of Vice President of Operations.

He was a devout member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hatfield, PA, for more than 70 years. A former member of the church council, where he held the position of Treasurer, and helped develop and found Stepping Stones Nursery School.

Mr. Weierman was a former School Board Member serving from 1955-1970. He was a past President of North Penn School Board, as well as hold other various board positions, and was the last chairman of the North Penn Authority. During his tenure, he associated closely with the architect and contractor for the construction of North Penn High School. A former member of the Hatfield Borough Council, where he chaired the committee to hire the first borough manager.

He was a former Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) soccer and basketball official. In 1960, he was one of the founders who organized the Hatfield Area Little League. Mr. Weierman had a passion for sports, and you could always find him watching baseball, football, golf, and auto races, including attending the "Indianapolis 500" race more than 25 times since 1963. He loved to play pool with his friends over many years and enjoyed going to the beaches in Florida and in Cape May, NJ, where he had a house. John was a family man, and enjoyed spending time with them and Jean, the love of his life, a loyal and wonderful wife.

Surviving with his loving wife, area his two children, John H. Weierman and his wife Cynthia, of Hatfield, PA, and Jackie W. Tressler and her husband Terry, of Lake Wales, FL; four grandchildren, Craig and his wife Joanna, of Hatfield, Katrina "Katie", of Hatfield, Kelly Amey and her husband Geoff, of Arvada, CO, and Clifton and his wife Elyse, of Des Moines, IA; three great grandchildren, Connor, Hayley, and Emerson; and many nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Donna Klementisz, of Lansdale, PA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Finnemeyer.

His Funeral Service will be held at 10:30AM on Friday, December 29, 2023, at the Sadler-Suess Funeral Home, 33 N. Main Street, Telford, PA, where friends may call from 10:00 AM to 10:30AM. Interment will follow at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA, 19002. A Memorial Service will also be held at a later date.
