John J. Turock, formerly of Telford, PA passed on August 24, 2026, at Providence Place in Collegeville. John was born in Berwick, PA on February 8, 1938, to John and Elizabeth Turock. He lived in Berwick until 1962 when he married his wife Madelyn Scheno and moved to Summit, NJ.

            John was very proud of his three children, Terri Freed (Bob), John Turock (Dana), and Stacey Foster(Jim). He loved being surrounded by his family and was the happiest when he was seated at the head of the holiday table-the more the merrier!

            John was also known to family and friends as Jack and Turk but his favorite title was "Pop"! He adored his six grandchildren, Kellyn Dodd (Kyle), Alex Turock (Sarah), Ryan Freed (Ashlyn), Maddie Spillane (Logan), Jacob Moyer, and Nathan Moyer (Maecy).

            He was so very happy to welcome new members into his family and celebrated each wedding and birth with love and excitement! He was overjoyed to have seven great-grandchildren, Ryker, Brighton, Madelyn, Rowan, Aurelia, Brody and Jackson.

            John was very proud of his service in the Merchant Marines and told many stories of his years "on ship".

            Some of John's favorite memories are of the trips he took with his wife Madelyn including "snowbirding" in Englewood, FL. He also loved the many summer vacations in Ocean City, NJ with all of his children and grandchildren. Although John never really liked the beach, he loved seeing the rest of his family in their happy place!

            John was an avid hunter and loved his time in the woods! He would swap hunting stories with everyone around him.

            John is survived by his sister Debra DeFebo (Ralph), his sister-in-law Nikki Rinehimer, his brother-in -law Dennis Scheno (Charollette) and many nieces and nephews.

            John's family would like to thank the staff of Providence Place, Collegeville and Compassus Hospice for their care, compassion and devotion. We especially appreciate Titania Stewart for going above and beyond!
