John Roy Greene, 85, of Telford, PA, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at LifeQuest Nursing Center, Quakertown, PA.

He was the beloved husband to Elaine (Nyce) Greene with whom he would have celebrated their 20th Anniversary on December 27, 2023.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Roy and Catherine (McManus) Greene.

John graduated from Lansdale Catholic High School in 1956 and went on to serve the U.S. Army throughout the late 1950's.

He was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, where he served as a Lector.

A model train enthusiast, John owned and operated Bethlehem Car Works, Telford, PA for the past thirty-five years. Throughout his life, John was a member of the Hatfield Jaycees, The Hamburg Train Association, and was a former Hatfield Township Commissioner.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by five children; Thomas Jude Greene and his wife Karen of McCormick, SC, Mary Catherine Zollo and her husband, Phillip, of Harleysville, PA, Michael Stephen Greene of Red Hill, PA, Sean Greene and his wife Kerry of Lansdale, PA; three step-children, Kenneth Dean Weikel and his wife Angie of Allentown, PA, Karen Jannell Green and her husband Barry of Lansdale, PA and Tricia Nannette Pinkney and her husband David of Atlanta, GA. John is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a brother, Joseph Greene of Harrisburg, PA, and a sister, Geraldine Landis of Collegeville, PA. John is predeceased by a son, Matthew John Greene.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM,on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Immanuel Leidy's Church, 273 W Cherry Ln, Souderton, PA. Interment will follow in Immanuel Leidy's Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John's name to a charity of one's choice.
