Obituary

John Robert Cressman was born February 19, 1940 and died peacefully on May 14, 2023. He was the devoted son of Betty and Bob. John and his wife Pam's greatest happiness has always been found in their family. Their children, Jen and Rob, increased the joy through the creation of their own families.

After achieving a mastery of carpentry, John went on to complete his degree at Temple University. With this preparation, he pursued his lifelong career of teaching and guiding numerous young men into carpentry and the building trades at the vocational school in Norristown.

John served for six years in the Army Corp of Engineers Reserves during the Vietnam War. Among his numerous local involvements, he served for many years as an East Rockhill Township supervisor. He was among the group who created the Pennridge Regional Police Department and served as a commissioner. He was also a founding member of the Bucks County Covered Bridge Society.

Woodworking and bowl turning were John's favorite leisure activities. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing, and rooting enthusiastically for the Eagles and other sports teams.

The Cressman family will be honoring John's life in a private celebration.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to John's high school class's scholarship fund would be greatly appreciated and continue his lifelong commitment to education.
